Foster’s Market Chapel Hill is now The Root Cellar
Although the name is new, the people behind the restaurant have been with the business and a part of the Chapel Hill community for years. Chef Sera Cuni was hired as kitchen manager for Foster’s Market Chapel Hill in 2006 and two years later, was promoted to general manager. She and her partner, Susan White, purchased the market in January 2013. We’re proud of our history and plan to continue much of what Sara Foster started in 1998 when she opened this location as an expansion of her original restaurant in Durham. Some changes you will see immediately, but the majority will roll out the first week in September. The Root Cellar menu will remain primarily intact, but our goal is to place even more emphasis on the cafe and the scratch-made food made right, right here everyday. So look for old favorites as well as a few new sandwiches, pizzas and other items. We’re most excited about the addition of blue plate lunch specials, dinner entrees and an expanded catering menu! But we promise, all the deliciousness that you love will still be served 7 days a week!
We look forward to seeing you soon!
